55°55’N 4°29’E is now an album!!It consists of an electroacoustic improvising duo between cellist Lucija Gregov and Suzana Lașcu on guitar. Recorded in Rotterdam for its experimental scene, the album’s title is representing the city’s geographic coordinates. The pieces, some of which are pre-composed, as well as instantly composed, have been processed as “granular encounters”, half of the tracks becoming fragmented, time stretched, algorithmically modified through a MAX/MSP patch, based on certain parameters. These processes have been rendered and published as unique iterations, carefully selected for a finished product. Each title track represents a familiar place to Rotterdamers. The project was possible through the financial support of Sena Muziekproductiefonds.
